Looking for beauty, leadership, and love

Yesterday I heard a lecture by Jill Bolte Taylor (you can too - watch a video presentation here: http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/jill_bolte_taylor_s_powerful_stroke_of_insight.html).   I was very inspired  by this brain researcher who personally experienced and recovered from a stroke in the 1990s, and now shares her insights about the brain with others in her book, Stroke of Insight.  I won't try to restate her message, however I liked her suggestion to intentionally search for perceptions that provide hope for the world.

So I went to sleepy time last night with hope in my heart.  As a thought experiment, I am going to intentionally review my day, every day.  My purpose will be to find a moment of revealed beauty in my day. After all, I would like to live in a beautiful world - why not be grateful and appreciate at least one beautiful moment, every day?

Secondly, I will notice a moment of leadership.  We need more leadership in this world, many people will tell you that.  It may be hard, but I will find the moment that demonstrated
leadership as I saw it.  Before I go to sleep, I will remember that moment, and be thankful for it.

Finally, I will remember a moment of love. Love is the greatest of forces, spiritual teachers insist.  I can notice at least one moment of love, and celebrate its presence in my life.

If I am a perceptive person, I hope to notice more beauty, leadership, and love in the world.  Wouldn't you like to find these qualities in your world?
