Prepare your mind for change

An executive called me during his commute hour home. "Steve, I've built several businesses over the last fifteen years. I am ready to sell my current business because of all the uncertainty in the market.  I'm thinking of earning my advanced degree before starting my new business." We talked about his learning goal over several calls, and how appropriate it is for a person in his fifties to invest in new learning.

I'm a believer in personal learning goals. Robert Kiyosaki wrote that, ""Sometimes you win and sometimes you learn." The prepared mind of a leader is developed through effort and painful experience.  A plan to expand one's mind gives one an important edge over complacent others.

Prepare your mind for coming changes. Working people share the narrative all the time, "our world is changing." Your best protection for career change is to be smarter, informed, and agile. What is your learning goal?

Call me, let's talk about how you are preparing your mind for change.

Love the title of this one, Steve, and the reminder from Kiyosaki. Things seem to be changing faster and faster, and our ability to adapt and grow is also increasing in speed...if we're willing.

I've just started a book called the Talent Code by Daniel Coyle recommended to me by another leadership coach -- powerful implications that virtually anything can be learned...

All the best to you and your family, and the impact you're having on others going throug change!
