Uniquely you

The pace of life is accelerating. Anyone who works, deals with technology, helps people solve problems, or generates original thought has doubtless had to deal with complex new expectations. Technology drives much of the change in the world, and people become impatient. If you are changing careers or emerging as a leader, you had best understand yourself before you ask people for their commitments.

Can you answer quickly, what are your top qualifications to do what you are seeking to do? If you are changing careers, do you have important experience and knowledge to bring to a new employer? You must know your distinctive talents and strengths, and be able to demonstrate why you are good at these areas.  In the scramble to grow in an era of fast innovation, decision-makers act quickly. Your qualifications must be offered without hesitation, or you will be ignored.

Review your strengths. Your strengths are not your qualifications, they help you focus on what energizes you.  Read Marcus Buckingham's books on strengths, Now Discover Your Strengths.  Understanding your strengths will give you added perspective to help you create your future.
