Lifting others

I suspect that you have some special talents that others around you notice. Instead of making yourself a scarce commodity, share your special gift.  Teach others to understand and use the strengths that you have developed.  When you can make an impact on others, you will be a leader, a person that enables others to be more effective.

Not only do leaders lift others, they also sharpen their perceptions about the talents of people around them.  Leaders are often maximizers of people talent.  A maximizer understands the resources at work, and finds ways to deploy them to a maximum impact. A leader builds a deep understanding of the natural talents and capabilities of the people in his or her circle, and find ways to put people to work on what they are good at doing. Leaders bring out the best in people, and help others to use new skills.
